Yesterday, my husband and I went grocery shopping at a nearby Market Basket supermarket. They had AMAZING prices on Fancy Feast, so we stocked up and got the cats a month's supply. When we got home, my husband and I started unpacking the groceries. The second the cats heard the sounds of the cans clanking, this happened:
After the sharks began circling, they went in for the kill!
It turns out that with a few treats and swift hands, Sylvester can be coaxed into wearing his Santa costume.
After a while, he realizes that he's wearing a costume and throws himself down on the floor, just like Paddy.
Since he doesn't like his Santa costume, we'll try to make wearing it just a once or twice a year occurrence.
In other After Christmas Clearance news, the husband and I took a trip to Portland, Maine yesterday and stopped into a Reny's store. They had these cute little Snuggies for Dogs on clearance for $0.75 each. I wanted to get a pair for the boys, but the husband talked some sense into me.
I love after Christmas clearance sales! I like to go and stock up on non-perishable items, like wrapping paper, bows, and Christmas lights for the next Christmas. Last night I stopped into CVS to see what what kind of after Christmas clearance sale they had going on. I discovered that they had exactly two Santa pet costumes on clearance for 75% off. And guess who's sizes these last two Santa pet costumes were? Paddy and Sylvester's! As soon as I got home, I put the larger Santa costume on Paddy. We tried to put Sylvester's on him, but we all know how Sylvester feels about Christmas. (He actually bit his Dad's hand and drew blood, so we decided that Sylvester didn't need to wear his Santa costume.)
Whenever I put a costume on Paddy, his first instinct is to drop to the ground.
